Executive committees elected at AGM 7 May 2011

President – Dona Feltham
Elected to position of President in 2009, previously a member of the Executive Committee. Employed by Essex County Fire & Rescue Service since 1986, worked in the Emergency Fire Control until 2001 then became Women's liaison Officer to the Training Department until 2007. Currently working on special projects. Active Fire Brigades Union member who became Chair of the FBU National Women's Committee in December 1999. Has attended TUC Women's Conference as a delegate since 2000. Prior to becoming Chair of the NWC of the FBU was a volunteer for Victim Support specialising in rape, sexual assault and domestic violence cases.

Secretary – Val Duncan
NAW Secretary since 2004. Former engineer and project manager. Member of Action Aid, Amnesty International, War on Want and involved in campaigns in North East England against war and privatisatiojn of public services. Secretary of North East Labour History Society. Special interests equal pay, equality and international women's and children's issues.

Treasurer – Eleanor Lewington
NAW Treasurer since 2005. Previously, Pensions Officer Usdaw. Member of Cuba Solidarity Campaign.  Over 30 years membership of MSF: experienced in workplace negotiations in manufacturing industry. 
Campaigned for better state pensions; worked on NAW responses to Government pension reviews and continues to work developing NAW policies in this area.

Margaret Boyle
I have worked in advice and policy roles for the Equal Opportunities Commission and Citizen’s Advice on low pay, equality at work and work and family issues and continues as a volunteer at Citizens Advice.  My contribution to the EC would be to support our policy work and currently our pensions campaign and do my bit to keep our unique socialist feminist voice heard!

Megan Dobney
Formerly an activist of print unions NGA, GPMU and Amicus. Currently a member of the GMB and Regional Secretary of the Southern and Eastern Region TUC. Member of Sylvia Pankhurst Memorial Committee. Secretary of Boveney District Woodcraft Folk. Main interests apart from equality for women: trade union rights, children and peace.

Janette Ferguson
Retired in April 2009 after 37 years in the Fire Service Emergency Fire Control Room in Strathclyde.  For much of that time served as a FBU Rep for the Control Room Staff and more recently in the Women's Section both locally and nationally. Always a strong supporter of all Equality and Fairness Issues both within the home and work environments and hopes to, with member support, continue with these issues within the NAW.

Pam Flynn
Member of Public and Civil Service Union (PCS) Special interests: domestic violence, trafficking of women and children, lesbian and gay equality, networking and women’s empowerment. Now also preoccupied with climate change and the need to prevent nuclear new build.

Rose Keeping
Regional Officer for UNITE the union.  Secretary to a Regional Industrial Sector Committee. Unite member. Former activist in TASS & MSF, held various posts both nationally and regionally.  Main interests equalities, trade union rights, human rights and peace.  A member of various organisations including Cuba Solidarity.

Barbara White
Trumpet player, vocalist, and teacher. An active trade unionist. Elected Branch Secretary of former East London Branch of Musicians Union, a lively and vibrant approx.1000 members. Elected to Musicians Union Executive Committee in 1989, a position still held. Represents the MU at the TUC, TUC Women’s Conference and the Labour Party. Member of the TUC Women’s Committee and Chair of the 2006 TUC Women’s Conference. Special interests: education, equality issues, health and childcare.

Anita Wright
Retired primary headteacher. Worked on local authority committees developing policy on education, safeguarding children and community services. Member of the National Union of Teachers, Lambeth Pensioners Action Group and officer of Lambeth Trades Council. Active trade unionist involved in local anti cuts movement. First joined NAW in 1982 and currently on the working party preparing for the NAW 60th anniversary in 2012. Member of Abortion Rights, Cuba Solidarity and Marx  Memorial Library.

Ute Navidi (Co-opted)
Ph.D.: Chief Executive, London Play – award-winning children’s charity; Regional Vice President (Europe), International Play Association. International independent expert (safer internet for children programme), European Commission. Formerly UK Head of Policy ChildLine; Research/Public Policy Officer Scope; Equal Opportunities Research Officer MSF; Lecturer Open University (Social Policy: welfare power and diversity) and University of Luton (Ethnicity; History of Immigration). Member of Unite Union. External Advisory Group to All-Party Parliamentary Group for Children. Research Writer, Thomas Coram Research Unit, Institute of Education. External Member of Open University’s Research Ethics Committee. Passions: children’s rights, human rights, equalities (including global), refugees and asylum seekers. Anti-war, anti-poverty, anti-nationalisms.
