WIDF appeal for the Children of Lebanon |
| The Women's International Democratic Federation has launched an urgent international appeal, through its affiliates, to provide much needed school kits for the children of Lebanon. You have all seen the news - schools have been devastated and education materials have been destroyed. |
| The National Assembly of Women, together with India, has been jointly allocated the village of Mais El-Jabal, so that we can also later see the impact of our support. The NAW is co-ordinating the contributions for England. Due to the practical difficulties of sending materials like pens, the consensus is that it would be simpler to raise funds and send monies to the League of Lebanese Women's Rights, a WIDF sister organisation. |
| The most effective and least costly way the NAW can do this is, for the time being, if our President Barbara Switzer takes all donations received with her to the WIDF Executive Committee meeting in Rome on 24- 27 November. |
